Deprived Families Economic Empowerment Program (for the NGOs)

Project Description :

This is an extended phase of DEEP program, whereby new partnerships with NGOs are involved. SEC has conducted capacity building to the NGOs themselves on business planning skills. The main objective of this project is to develop and strengthen participating NGOs in DEEP program in the Gaza Strip so that they will be able to help entrepreneurs develop entrepreneurial, managerial and technical skills to start and run their small scaled businesses. Moreover, this project includes providing advisory sessions for the beneficiaries after establishing their own businesses.

Target Region: Gaza Strip

Objectives:

Enhance competencies of community based organizations NGOs so that they will enhance the competencies of their entrepreneurs.

Support the targeted participants shaping their business ideas, and qualify them to start and run their businesses efficiently

BeneficiariesA number of 100 participants representing deprived families were received by the ministry of social affairs, and the need assessment is checked by the two local CBOs.

Project Activities:

1) Training local NGOs on business planning skills. Eight trainees will be chosen from two local NGOs (Gaza Culture and Development Group GCDG and Dar Al-Kitab wa Al-Sunna) to take the business planning skills training.

2) Training members of deprived families on business management skills using CEFE methodology. A number of 100 participants will be trained.

3) Selecting the eligible participants to be granted fund to establish their own businesses. A number of 25 deprived families will be selected in this activity.

4) Conduct coaching sessions for the established businesses. A number of 16 businesses will receive conduct coaching sessions.
