Deprived Families Economic Empowerment Program (DEEP)

Project Description:

The overall objective of this project is to improve deprived families conditions in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Jerusalem, through delivering quality business services by professional trainers and coaches to fully meet their needs, and, strengthening their capacities in establishing their businesses in pre-identified sectors as well. In partnership with UNDP, SEC has conducted four training rounds where  UNDP/DEEP through its partnership with the NGOs in the Gaza Strip were responsible for nominating around 480 individuals to be supported to develop sound business plans and turn them into real businesses. Trained candidates are then supported with physical grants (raw material and equipments), followed by coaching sessions conducted by SEC trainers.

Target Region: West Bank/ Gaza Strip / Jerusalem

Objectives:

Enhance competencies of participating entrepreneurs (deprived families) in developing sound business plans.

Support the targeted participants shaping their business ideas, and qualify them to start and run their businesses efficiently.

Enhance the competencies of trainers and consultants in the West Bank, and Gaza Strip

Enhance the professional advancement of the trainers in the business training and consultancy fields

 

Beneficiaries:

480 beneficiaries benefited from the program (phase 1)

1470 beneficiaries are targeted for the program (phase 2)

 

Project Activities:

  1. Identification of candidates who are qualified to receive funding under the program, and coaching the development of designing final business plans
