2-Ms. Sahar Haidria- Jenin, one of Thriive Beneficiaries phase 2011
In 2008 Ms. Sahar started a business of raising sheep. She started with 10 sheep supplied by a Women Association in Jenin.
Ms. Saher’s motive was behind establishing the business was to end poverty and economic hardship. Her husband is extremely sick and he does not have a job since he is suffering from serious heart disease. Thus Sahar is the main bread winner of the family.
Ms. Saher sleeked to improve and expand her business. In 2011, it was fortunate that she applied to Thriive loan. Luckily, Sahar was selected by the Small Enterprise Center to obtain a loan from Thriive, which has enabled her to purchase additional 10 sheep.
The business has improved Sahar's household income dramatically. Sahar's business has achieved significant success. The profit increased by 30%. Currently, the fixed asset of business increased to 70 sheep.
She succeeded to sell the dairy products in Al- Rama village - Jenin. Moreover she was able to markets her business products of milk and cheese in Jenin city, in addition to other villages around her .Furthermore the business products also provide Sahar's household with the dairy products that they need.
It was her ambitions, insistence and determination that had transferred Ms. Sahar from the extreme poverty to the financial stability. She believes that success starts with a small step followed by major steps of progress.
The owner speaks about her business with a shy smile on her face. She makes you feel that "if there is a will there is a way" and that "there is no novelty in poverty". This is how Sahar started her road to success.
